About Dulcie
For years mum had asked me to make scrunchies for her. Even after scrunchies were out of fashion she still loved her scrunchies. So, in 2020, I found I had a little more time on my hands. I took to the sewing machine and decided to try a few ideas out. A collection was forming and so Dulcie the company was born – Mum was my first ever customer, buying my first 9 designs!
In just a month the company has grown from just me having the idea, designing and sewing, to introducing an IT Consultant, Marketing Assistant and two machinists. We look forward to continuing to grow the Dulcie family.
Why Dulcie?
One of my earliest memories was of when I was only 4 years old. My mum and dad had their own business in North Wales, a shop with a café. Every day, one particular elderly customer came in, and everyday mum and dad would give her a lift home. I was fascinated by this lady, in her 80s, nicely dressed sitting next to me in the car. Her clothes were just so but more importantly, her dark grey hair was always wrapped around tightly on the top of her head with flowers and a SCRUNCHIE. All I could do was stare up in awe. Her name was Dulcie Wildrice.
